Johnson hopes to sneak into NBA Draft

Louisiana-Lafayette’s Tyren Johnson is hopeful he will hear his name called during the NBA Draft. Johnson is projected to fall somewhere in the late second round at best, but more than likely go undrafted.

That said, not getting drafted isn’t the worst thing in the world, and some folks actually think it’s better than going in the second round. By not getting drafted, it allows you to go work out for a number of teams and handpick the best situation.

Johnson is a good athlete who can play multiple positions and but is a little bit too streaky and undisciplined at times.

Former Cajuns coach, AD passes away

Nelson Stokley, who served as head football coach and athletic director at Louisiana-Lafayette in the 1980s and 1990s, passed away June 5. He was 66 years old.

The mark he made on the program is indelible. Stokley ranks second on the Rajin’ Cajuns career victories list from a 13-year career that ran from 1986-1998, and also served as athletic director from 1988-1992. (Read More…)
